Balls that are both lightweight and hard, delivering top-notch performance
Ceramic balls are made from fine ceramics and are lighter with significantly higher hardness compared to conventional steel balls. They also have superior chemical properties such as corrosion resistance, chemical resistance, and insulation. There are two types: non-oxide ceramics (like silicon nitride) and oxide ceramics (like alumina and zirconia).
Characteristics
Silicon Nitride (Si₃N₄) Superior durability and wear resistance
Balls made from silicon nitride (Si₃N₄) offer superior wear resistance, a low thermal expansion coefficient, and excellent thermal shock and creep resistance. They are used in bearings that require electrical insulation.
Alumina (Al₂O₃) Excellent corrosion and chemical resistance
Balls made from alumina (Al₂O₃) possess high chemical resistance and excellent corrosion resistance. They also offer excellent strength at room temperature and superior insulation properties.
Zirconia (ZrO₂) Chemically stable material
Balls made from zirconia (ZrO₂) have a high melting point and are chemically stable. Additionally, their low thermal conductivity provides excellent thermal insulation and high impact resistance.
Applications(Examples)
- Ceramic bearings (Silicon Nitride)
- Used in high-speed rotating bearings and where electrical corrosion protection is required. Their exceptional wear resistance and smoothness contribute to long-life.
- Chemical pumps (Alumina Ceramics)
- Primarily used in pumps for chemical agents. Their high quality and precision enable stable operation even under harsh conditions.
- Camera components (Zirconia ZrO₂)
- Used as camera components in smartphones and other devices, offering top-tier quality and precision for the latest equipment.
